WaveCrafter
WaveCrafter is a complete solution to freely control the coherent electron wavefront in a transmission electron microscope (TEM). It is composed of 3 main modules:
- A dedicated condenser aperture holder fitted with the AdaptEM patented electron phase plate. Composed of up to 48 individual pixels, the phase plate manipulates the phase relation between the individual partial waves that make up the coherent electron beam in a flexible manner. The condenser aperture holder is designed to accommodate the 48 signals to each pixel while maintaining high vacuum.
- A Remote Controller unit which provides the required electric signals to the phase plate and allows swift changes of each individual pixel. Placed near the condenser aperture holder, its shielded low power design prevents unwanted disturbance to the nearby electron beam, keeping the full performance of the electron microscope under all circumstances. Triggers can rapidly cycle through phaseplate patterns and interface with other hardware such as scan engines, spectrometers or cameras.
- A Phase Controller computer. Provides a user interface to the phase plate either directly on the phase controller host or remotely over the network from another client. The user interface allows the user to individually control each pixel, apply pre-programmed wave shaping or implement custom designed wave profiles and sequences of those. A python API provides access to all features to allow for user defined complex experiment setups.
This product is intended for researchers who require flexible tuning of the phase of the electron wave. Curious about detailed capabilities and whether it could fit on your TEM? Want to discuss applications? Contact us at info@adaptem.eu
